Our Alg 2 group is planning on creating a review unit for the CRTs for Trig. We're planning on bells and whistles, sounds and videos. Maybe we'll use a google form for a quiz, if we can get around the issues with using math symbols. We had a lovely chat using Skype. I don't think we will attempt Wimba because of the technical issues and learning curve. My personal goal is to dig deep into Smart Notebook and learn how to record a lesson with "goodies".
I wrote a short book here a few minutes ago and lost it all!!! Does that tell you how I feel? I think the majority of the members this year are very tech-savvy. They were interested in seeing something about everything. So many presenters said, "This is so easy. You just..." NOT!!!! Maybe easy for them, but I was lost most of the time after the 2nd "now click on this", and never caught up. I have to try something new on the spot and work with it a while before I can understand it. This old brain is having trouble keeping up. On the other hand, I HAVE learned something new and useful at all the intech classes. I hope I can get my brain to catch up and assimilate enough before I retire!!!!
It has been very informative. I wish I had my own computer here. I was hoping to have had smaller groups or classes so we could have spent more quality time on the specific topics we were interested in.
WOW!! Isn't technology amazing!! We have entered a new world these last two days!!
ReplyDeleteI just learned everything that been on my mind since I've started teaching. I hope my students will be as excited as I am... :)

ReplyDeleteI loved the information but am very frustrated with district computers.
I know a lot about the technology but am excited about seeing how to use it in a classroom setting and getting the student's interest.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to play with - I hope I find the time to use it all.
